Why consider TV over Internet Services?

leave a comment »

There are several reasons you may want to consider TV over Internet Services. A few are:

1. Check out the latest Technology

2. The Ability to take your TV Services on the road

3. Save on the Cost for Cable TV services

4. Have a wider selection of Channels especially International

The availability of network connectivity just about everywhere, now allows providers to stream video to you regardless of location. This reduces the cost to provide such services and improves the flexibility have the services in any location.

This means you can get lots more channels at highly reduced cost. In fact, the emerging set top box market will be moving this direction but of course the downside its the same cable company with the same bill.

Several provides online are providing fairly good services through your web browser while some more mature versions come in the form of software download for a small fee. The good news is that none of these services require monthly subscription fees.

A few of the services I have tried out are available TV over Internet Offer

I am recommending a special software for download today here Special Internet TV Package. I like the software approach since it has a cleaner interface and can integrate into the living room especially if you have an HTPC system as well. As you can see TV over Internet does have working options today, but be warned its not perfect, sometimes channels are unavailable and the channel surfing speed is slower than cable but the viewing quality is just as good and DVD quality in lots of cases. Share your needs and experience in the Internet TV Forum.

By Robert Kamau

You can watch TV online through the use of special satellite software for pc. Most of the packages sold online have reviews by people that have used them before and this could guide you before buying. Most pc satellite softwares are not legitimate and people end up loosing their money. You can get some good reviews that give you the critics, complaints, recommendations, votes and prices of these packages online.

Watching pc TV streams on your computer is an exciting experience. Most television networks in America and elsewhere are now uploading their programs and shows online to enable a wider coverage globally.

One of the benefits of getting to watch pc TV over the internet is that you will no longer miss your home channels wherever you are. Since most cities in the world are now connected to high speed internet, all you need to do is get reliable software installed in your laptop and connect to the internet through the hotels wi-fi system or internet ports.

Watching pc TV on the internet has many other advantages including the ability to watch uncensored television programs and news. Mainstream television service is under tight censorship and usually adjusts its content so as not to offend a divergent audience. Online television on the other hand has very little control and is not subject to such laws. People can even make their own TV programs and upload them online. This makes watching news like the Iraq war better than getting it from a highly restricted network source.

Another advantage of online television is that it is absolutely free. With the cost of cable TV increasing with 8% over the last 2 years, having to watch pc TV from the internet becomes far cheaper. In most cases, all you need is an initial start up fee which usually less than $100. You will be able to watch free TV channels without paying the monthly subscription fees.

The other important element of satellite free to air TV from the internet is that it offers a very wide variety of programs. Most of these software packages offer more than 2000 channels from around the world. This means you have an even wider choice of TV to watch. The programs come in different languages and are especially convenient for people that are living away from home and who might want to watch local TV online from the pc.

One of the softwares that is the most popular online is the pc satellite TV 2007 elite. This software has 3000 channels including 2000 free satellite radio stations. It comes with a 100% money back guarantee for the lifetime membership. It has a one time only payment of less than $70 and you get a 30 day trial where you can cancel your membership, if you decide not to retain it.

This is a great article on how tv over internet technology is been integrated with actual flat screen hardware.

These IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) enabled screens will eventually offer a whole host of streaming services over the internet and will arrive in Europe in Spring 2009.

IPTV is similar to ‘Internet TV’ but there are some subtle differences. Both use IP (Internet Protocol) to deliver their services, but Internet TV makes use of the global internet to deliver services while IPTV is delivered over a private managed network.

HD News: Manufacturers have long recognized the value of some form of integration between the internet and their flat panel TV’s; this integration is now taking shape.

Is the Internet finally killing TV? – MSN Money

This is a great article to read.. Seem to show that TV over internet is gaining momentum. This trend is happening in Canada, the US and pretty much worldwide.

Is the Internet finally killing TV?More than 80 million Americans have watched a TV show online. By 2013, a research group says, scheduled programs will account for less than half of all video viewed. advertisement Article Tools * E-mail to a friend * Tools Index * Print-friendly version * Site Map * Article Index * Discuss in a Message Board * Digg This By Christian Science MonitorIs this the summer that the Internet finally kills television as we once knew it?Most industry observers are stopping short of that prediction, citing some significant hurdles still in the way.But the growing number of new deals and new devices being announced suggests that a profound change in the way people watch video — and what video they watch — is under way.The line between “television” and video via the Internet already has blurred and may disappear in coming years. At least one industry analyst has declared “TV is dead” and welcomes Americans to a new age of video everywhere.Increasingly, Americans are watching video when they want to, and on the screen that suits them at the time. And more programming is from new sources that threaten to unlock Hollywood’s domination of content.
